Ms Khim Sua Taing - Entrepreneur

Khim Sua Taing has been buying, improving, operating and selling convenience stores and bakeries since she was in her early 20s. Now in her early 30s she has years of experience and extensive knowledge in the art of buying and selling businesses.

Khim has employed the professional assistance of CKG Partners to advise and support decision making for many of her business dealings.

"CKG has helped me with benchmarking analysis and management reports to ensure I always understand the financial positioning, including business strengths and weaknesses, from the purchasing of the business through to the selling of it," she said.

"The high level personal service and sound advice has made life so much easier."

As well as CKG, Khim has used associate business CFL Finance Planning to finance purchases, deliver advice on the best loan at the best interest rate to make an investment worthwhile and secure loans.

"I would often just drive around and see what businesses were in the area and what businesses looked like they had potential."

"Most of all it was about trusting my gut feeling; if it felt right I would go ahead. I guess my gut feeling is the knowledge of knowing what business is potentially good and then backing it with professional expertise."

Other factors that influence Khim's decision to purchase a business include location, demographics, local council's plans for the area and potential for improvement.

Essentially, having good service, meeting client needs, staying fully stocked, hard work and being on top of the financials are the key to a successful business.

"If you have a vision and work hard you will get there," Khim said.
